Figma 201... - Course Contents

Knowledge from the beginner course “Figma 101: First Steps in UI/UX Design” is required. The course is for all: 

  • UX/UI Designers with basic Figma knowledge, who want to deepen their skills and work more efficiently.
  • All persons who use Figma and want to gain deeper insights, knowledge and want to step up their workflow. 

1. Auto Layout Mastery (approx. 120 minutes)
• Deepening of Auto Layout
• Fixed vs. Hug Contents vs. Fill Container
• Negative Spacing and Absolute Positioning in Auto Layout
• Complex nested Auto Layouts


2. Components and Variants (approx. 150 minutes)
• What are components?
• Creating and managing components
• Variants: States and properties of components
• Creating interactive components
• Best practices for component naming


3. Styles & Design Tokens (approx. 90 minutes)
• Create and apply color styles
• Creating and applying text styles
• Effect and grid styles
• Basics of design tokens


4. Advanced prototyping (approx. 180 minutes)

• Overlays and scrolling effects
• Conditional Logic and Variables (introduction, if already available in Figma at the time of the course)
• Multiple flows in a prototype

5. Plugins and integrations (approx. 75 minutes)

6. Design Systems - Getting started (approx. 105 minutes)
• What is a design system and why is it important?
• Basic structure of a simple design system in Figma
• File structure and organization of design libraries

• Shortcuts and key combinations
• Organization of Figma files and projects
